MISCHIE PALUMBO PSYCHOTHERAPY
“HEALING BEGINS WITH UNDERSTANDING THAT THE PAIN WE CARRY IS NOT OURS ALONE.”
MAYA ANGELOU
ABOUT ME
I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, codependency, and the broader LGBTQIA+ experience. While I work with individuals from all backgrounds, I am particularly drawn to supporting women, especially those within the queer community, recognizing the specific challenges they face. In addition to working with adults, I also work with teens and adolescents, understanding the vast importance of early support.
I believe in meeting clients where they are, to explore their emotions and unmet needs. Often, we internalize painful experiences as truths about ourselves, and part of our work together will focus on offering compassion and understanding to challenge these misrepresentations.
By exploring societal expectations and cultural norms, we can gain deeper insight into how these factors shape identity and mental health. Through our work together, we’ll create a space for healing, reflection, and transformation to help you reconnect with yourself.
It is my number one priority to ensure you feel supported as you face challenging emotions. Although this work can be complex, I believe in the importance of making space for levity and humor. Throughout the process we will explore what’s working in your life and what's not. As you actively engage in the process, I'm here to offer guidance and support while you navigate your journey towards transformation and growth.
MY APPROACH
My approach is rooted in an intersectional perspective—an understanding that identity is shaped by the complexities of culture, race, sexuality, ethnicity, and religion. This lens deeply informs how I work with clients, allowing me to recognize and respect the unique experiences that influence mental health.
Using psychodynamic and relational techniques, I explore how early relationships and experiences shape your current thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. This process empowers and validates your journey, creating a healing space for reflection and change.
